My dream 18

My dream 18 is a short Golf blog post highlighting my favourite holes in one round of Golf.

Before I start, let me just explain that I could write this blog post 50 times over. There are so many courses and holes to choose from that it can get very difficult to pick out my favourites.

I will probably have to write this blog again, at some point in the future, to satisfy my readers as I have surely missed some good holes off this list.

Luckily for me, barring two holes I have played them all but I do hope to complete the entire course.

My dream 18
1st Hole – St Andrews

The most nervous tee shot in Golf, even though it is the widest fairway.

2nd Hole – Gleneagles – PGA Centenary

A great Par 5 hole, with a “do or die” second shot or an easy layup.

3rd Hole – Pinehurst No.2

This is a great chance of a birdie, due to its length but beware of being too long. One of Payne Stewarts’ favourite holes too.

4th Hole – Cruden Bay

A fantastic Par 3 on one of the most underrated links courses in the world. Almost always into the wind due to its position.

5th Hole – Adamstal

Probably one of the most scenic holes in the world due to its dramatic background.

6th Hole – Seminole

Ben Hogans favourite Par 4. A wonderful hole that is a delight to play and is not too tough.

7th Hole – Crieff

I just love this hole. A good test of your long game.

8th Hole – Royal Troon

Nicknamed the “Postage Stamp” due to the size of the green which is very small. Tough bunkers also guard this hole.

9th Hole – Muirfield

As far as Par 5 holes go, this is a cracking example of an old school Par 5. It’s not long, but it’s a thinking mans Par 5.

10th Hole – The Belfry

The most famous “risk, reward” hole in Golf made famous by the Ryder Cup.

11th Hole – Moortown

This is not a long hole but it has a tricky second shot. You really have to know your yardage and hit it.

12th Hole – Augusta

One of the most famous Par 3 holes in the world. Golden Bell really is a beauty.

13th Hole – North Berwick

“Pit” is the name of this hole. A good birdie opportunity if you can dodge the wall that runs in front of the green.

14th Hole – Royal Dornoch

Wonderful sea views and a great hole to boot. One of the rare holes in Golf that has no bunkers.

15th Hole – Bethpage Black

Stroke index 1 and 478 yards of pure evil. The approach shot is really tough to a blind green. Play this hole at your own risk.

16th Hole – Ballybunion

Running along the beach among the sand dunes is this lovely Par 3 that gives the player a good chance of a 2.

17th Hole – TPC Sawgrass

Another one of those iconic Par 3s that are a dream to play.

18th Hole – Wentworth

A fantastic finishing hole to any golf course. How the big boys manage this with 2 shots is beyond me because It’ 2 big hits.

What do you think about the above course?
