New Year Resolutions for Golfers

New Year Resolutions for Golfers is a blog post filled with ideas of positive changes for the 2021 season.

Are you are fed up of your performance over the last 12 months? If so, then here are a few tips on what to do to get things back on course (excuse the pun).

Every golfer approaches the new season differently to the next. Most golfers take it as it comes but have you ever tried making a plan?

Have you ever wished for something and then done nothing about it?

Remember that change is a good thing.

Possible Changes to help the 2021 season.

Take on a PGA Professional’s advice with some lessons.

You may want to fix that slice or add a little distance to your game. Remember that making regular visits to a PGA Professional is vital in making those steps to a successful season.

Purchase some new equipment.

This is a great way to gain some early motivation and some much-needed momentum. Whether it’s a new driver, set of irons or just a new putter, you will be amazed at how good you will feel.

Take out a membership at your local club.

Joining a club can be the start of many things. New friends, social life and competitive golf can make a huge difference. It will also help you make time to play more Golf.

Buy a new wardrobe.

New shoes, a couple of shirts or a new pullover will help your self-confidence. It will even help start a friendly relationship with your local PGA Professional.

Make yourself a practice promise.

Ask your PGA Professional for advice on what to practice and when to practice it. If you want my advice, you can never over practice the short game. Never forget your putting either.

Make more time in your diary.

Too many people can get bogged down in their workplace. Remember that a good work-life balance is essential to your well being. Block times in your diary for Golf and you will thank me for it later.

Get hold of the latest rule book.

There are many golfers that have been caught out on the Golf course due to not knowing the rules or changes to the rules. The rule book, although impossible to read cover to cover, will help your knowledge and save future embarrassment.

Contact your local Gym.

Taking out a Gym membership is a great idea to get yourself ready for the new season. The festive season may have taken its toll on your body and now is the best time to bounce back.

Start your new diet.

I know that everyone has said this in the past but have you ever gone through with it? Make the first step and talk to a nutritionist. They don’t bite, they are not expensive and they will always be there for you when you need them the most.

Play more Golf!

Simply playing more Golf will help you in many ways. It will help improve your fitness, mental health, reduce stress, improve your sleep quality and make you feel good.
