The unfinished Golf course

The unfinished Golf course is a short blog post which tells the story of The Feddinch Club in St Andrews.

Not many people know that there is an unfinished Golf course in St Andrews.

It actually sits close to the Duke’s Course just off the A915.

Planning permission was granted in 2004.

The project paused for a while and was then boosted again in 2018.

Since 2019, the project has come to another halt. It now sits dormant, half finished.

The development is up for sale with Galbraith Group for a small fee of £25 million.

The Golf course at The Feddinch Club

The designer of this unfinished course is non-other than the 1973 Open Champion, Tom Weiskopf.

Tom Weiskopf has designed 65 courses, 7 of which are ranked in the world’s Top 100.

When finished “The Feddinch Club” will be the first course to be built in St Andrews since 2008.

The course, when finished, will be a PAR 72 7373 yards from the back tees, 6600 from the middle and 5484 from the forward tees.

The 9th hole & 18th hole will share a huge green right outside the clubhouse.

A further feature will be a short 19th playoff hole in case of any matches that are even after 18 holes.

The facilities will also include a 400-yard driving range, a dedicated short game area with bunkers and a putting green that will reflect the greens on the course.

The membership will be split into 3 classes.
