VIP Golf Dates in 2022

VIP Golf Dtaes in 2022

VIP Golf Dates in 2022 is a short golf blog highlighting my favourite tournaments to watch including Women’s golf from around the world.

This promises to be an excellent year for Golf. There is the return of Tiger Woods to Major Golf. The Ryder Cup will be held, this year in Italy and then there is the 150th Open Championship in St Andrews.

All the above, as well as an action-packed calendar of events.

Below is a list of my favourite events each year.

2022 Golf Highlights
The Players Championship – March 10th – 13th

Held every year on the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. World-famous for its 17th hole, the island green. This is often referred to as the 5th Major Tournament in the calendar.

The Masters – April 7th – 10th

Augusta National has held this tournament, every year since it started in 1934. (except 1943 – 1945 due to WWII). This is by far my favourite golf course. This is always a thrilling tournament to watch.

US PGA Championship – May 19th – 22nd

This year, the tournament will be played at Southern Hills Country Club in Oklahoma.

US Women’s Open – June 2nd – 5th

Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club will hold the 77th US Women’s Open. If you don’t normally watch Women’s golf, then you are missing out. There is so much to learn from these players, such as course management and touch & feel around the greens. They have fun too!

US Open – June 16th – 19th

Brookline, Massachusetts is the setting for this year’s 122 US Open. This event was last played at the Country Club in 1988 when Curtis Strange won with a score of 278. Let’s see what Bryson can do around here!

Scottish Open – July 7th – 10th

The tournament returns to the Renaissance Club by North Berwick for the fourth time in a row. This is a great venue to stay and play. Check out their villas to rent.

150th Open Championship – July 14th – 17th

This is the big one. It is surely going to be, one of the most viewed sporting events of the year. Who will lift up the trophy? Will Tiger Woods be teeing off, once again, in St Andrews? All will be revealed.

Amundi Evian Championship – July 21st – 24th

Held every year at the Evian Resort in France on the wonderful Championship course. This event is the only major event to be held in mainland Europe. This is always a crowd-pleaser.

Hero Open – July 28th – 31st

Another event for St Andrews in 2022 but this time at the Fairmount resort. This event is less visited but this year it will be full of famous faces. If you want to get up, close and personnel with your favourite players, then this is it.

Trust Golf Women’s Scottish Open – 28th – 31st

Dundonald Links is this years venue. Kyle Phillips has done wonders with this place. A brand new clubhouse and rental lodges make it a great destination to visit. This will be a great event with lots of the top names, in Women’s golf, playing.

AIG Women’s Open – August 4th – 7th

Surely the biggest event on the Women’s schedule. This event has a prize pot of over 6.8 million. This year the event is being held at Muirfield in Scotland. The club was famous for not allowing female golfers. Money talks, I suppose.

Alfred Dunhill Links Championship – September/October 29th – 2nd

This is one of my favourite tournaments to go to. Mingle with the stars in this great team event. Sports stars, film stars, rich & famous blending in with a spot of golf and fun. This really is a tournament for everyone, not just for golfers.
This will be the final tournament for St Andrews in 2022 but what an amazing year for the small, Scottish town.
